"Sitting quietly, doing nothing, spring comes, and the grass grows by itself." ~Buddhist Proverb
It's been a brutal winter here on the Washington coast. Tons of rain and high wind have left our ground saturated and flooded in places, roofs are damaged, trees snapped in half. Nearing the end of April, at times it feels as if winter stubbornly refuses to give way to spring.
But today, the sun has been out. The sky a gorgeous, clear blue with huge, puffy white clouds.
And I didn't have to do anything to change it. All I had to do, was sit at my desk, struggling with what to write for this blog post, look up to give myself a break, and notice that the sky was brilliant blue and the light streaming into my new window was bright and clarifying.
"...The grass grows by itself." It doesn't need me to push or encourage it. It just happens.
